Grandma is the Best Pie Maker
Hickory Nut Pie
NATIVE. CHEROKEE INDIAN PIE. Plenty of Hickory nuts in Oklahoma
- 3 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cup chopped hickory nut meats
- Combine ingredients and bake in unbaked pie shell for 15 mintues at 450 degrees. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and continue baking until a knife inserted into center comes out clean, about 35 to 40 mintues.
